Certified Nurse Practitioner
Cleveland Clinic is looking for a Certified Nurse Practitioner to provide primary and/or specialty nursing and medical care in a variety of settings at two of their facilities in Cleveland, Ohio.
This will be a shared position between the Wound Health Center at Lutheran Hospital and Pain Management at the Main Campus. Your practice will emphasize on health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention, and diagnosis of acute and chronic health problems. Nurse practitioners are credentialed and privileged by the Cleveland Clinic Board of Governors.
Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to perform advanced assessment and diagnosis, and ability to utilize the electronic medical record. 2 years current RN experience in clinical nursing is preferred and R-N licensure in the State of Ohio or ability to obtain licensure is required. National certification as a Nurse Practitioner is required, along with current Certificate of Authority by the Ohio Board of Nursing. A master’s degree is required, a doctoral degree is preferred.
Certified Nurse Practitioner Duties
Nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists are advanced practice registered nurses who have received special courses and training. They usually work closely with doctors and can perform many high-level primary care tasks. They often specialize in specific types of practice such as pediatrics, psychiatry, or obstetrics. Some establish a private practices, however, most work in doctors' offices, hospitals, or neighborhood health centers. Duties often include:
• Taking detailed medical histories and performing complete physical exams.
• Providing diagnoses and recommending treatment plans.
• Treating common medical conditions, illnesses, and injuries.
• Prescribing limited medications.
• Counseling patients and families
